Default engine cutting out when slowing down

Hi all , my 95 wrx keeps cutting out when i come to slow down, or come of the throttle , if you rev it at a stand stil,l it will try and cut out when you back off /rev go down , can't work out what it is ,
it idles smoothly at just under 1000 rpm,and car runs fine, not sure if its got anything to do with this - but i had a PP chip and it used to do it very occasionally , but i have now got a standard 94 wrx ecu and it does it everytime i slow down/come to a stop ,the car has been standing for a few weeks and is not used very often , any idea's?
any help much appreciated

could your maf sensor be on it's way out, they don't always throw a CEL b4 they finally pack up,
I'm new to scoob's so i wouldn't take this as gospil, but it has come up now and again on other threads.

try listing all the mods that you have as this can help over the net diagnosis.

thanks for reply's , my mods are , FMIC , decat , nur spec full exhaust , k@N 57i induction , , i'm tyring to get it sorted for a remap with a simtek ecu , but want to sort this problem first , i have checked the resistance on the idle control valve and its showing 7 when it should be between 8-11 in the Manuel would that little difference ef effect it, still not showing any faults , its starts of ok the gets progressively worse as it get hotter , until every time you let of the throttle it will stall , yet i can start it up and it will idle fine ?

Just brought my first scooby today

Its doing the same as yours, didnt happen on test drive.
It doesn't actully stall but gets very close. While I was reversing it up the drive it was doing it worst, battery light flickered on and lights were dimming

I havn't had a proper look yet, seems to drive fine though.

i have a couple of these for an early classic
let me know mate, & i'll post one to you.

the valve could still be the problem, undo the 2 screws on top, & see if its free to move.
its not just the diafam part that makes the issue.

That looks like the one! Make sure its the correct one for your car. Very jealous of the classic scooby parts prices mine was way higher than that!
