Default Ready for Mapping session...or not???

Myself and a few others are hoping to get simon(JGM) booked for a mapping day around the end of february,i have been buying all the upgrade bits for my car(my99 uk turbo) over a period of time and think i have everything now,but just need some advice.im not sure if i need a Fuel Pressure Reg or not with the other upgrades i have, heres my list of bits so far...
----------------------------
3" stainless straight through full decat system
vf35 turbo(td04 pipework/restrictor pill)
GTspecII headers and matching up pipe
Apexi FC and commander......(not fitted yet)
3 port boost solenoid......(not fitted yet)
Autobahn front mount intercooler
HKS induction kit and cold air feed pipe
440cc injectors
NGK pfr7b upgraded plugs
walbro 255 fuel pump
-----------------------------
Think thats it fellas,a very good and trusted mate says i will be better to fit the FPR to get a safe 320/330 with similar torque and not killing the car,but i just wanted some views from other impreza owners who may have similar setups.

i would get a fpr coz when i had mine mapped the fpr could not keep up with the turbo boost pressure and i was having a miss fire at 5500 rpm.fitted a fpr and that solved it

I'd be interested in a re-map
Just one thing, would 550 injectors not be a better option combined with the other items you have?

TBH the best person to speak to is Simon. He gives very good and meaningful advice and you have made a very good choice of mapper .

There is a thread by NS-04 on here somewhere, similar mods and target as you, might be worth looking up??

Hope it goes well

wouldn't bother with a fpr, 550 injectors would be better but your 440's will be ok and i would change your up pipe to one of harveys 3 bolt performance up pipes, the difference is night and day.

It is a 3 bolt version with the smaller bore and strange looking insert inside the up pipe,so i would imagine its the one you mention as the car spools up very quickly even un-mapped.

Hi, i would also consider a different size up pipe from Harvey Smith as the one supplied with th GT spec headers is a large bore and will slow down the response of the turbo.
I have found this out on my 18g and will be getting one in the next few days. Do a search or contact him on here for some more info, hes a good honest guy, won't sell you something you don't need.

Hope this is of help to you

Sorry been away over christmas and just drove 5hours home and then took the scoob out for a play.
Agree 550cc or a good fpr (fuelab, sx, aeromotive).
The hks filter isnt very good at filtering small dust particules and 99 maf fragile to dust, would change to an apexi if possible.

Simon would be best to advise, seeing as your car is a 99 it runs the phase 2 440 injectors. These can be modified by Lateral Performance to flow alot more at good money.

As i said though ask Simon if these could be trimmed on the PFC to run good idle on the car.

Yes the modified ones work very well.
All that said the standard ones will flow enough but only just so good to uprate etc

Nice 1 fellas,i`ll check out lateral and see what they can do for me.Apexi induction kit just ordered,so brand new HKS superflow kit now going up for sale.

Lateral charge £201 for the flow upgrade, which i think is out of my pocket range at the moment.Found these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT on ebay, would they be ok for the job or not worth bothering with for the small cc difference.

Ok guys got a slight problem with the new Apexi filter i just fitted, the car performs fine off boost apart from idle dropping right down to nearly cutting out when approaching lights or coming to a stop with clutch dipped. But the biggest worry is when the car is on boost and i lift off the pedal it jolts backwards as if the break has been applied, its quite an aggressive jolt aswell.anyone know what the problem is with it,the car was great with the hks kit on,i`ve had the battery off for about 3 hours today to reset the ecu but its still the same and im really concerned....need help guys.

sounds like your hitting fuel cut. means its boosting fueling to high for the ecu i believe.

Dont drive the car hard until you have mapped it because all your fueling will be out
