Default coolant for 95 wrx classic

This seems to be a bit of a mystery topic to me, but loads of people have scoobs and all scoobs have coolant, so would someone be able to give me a definitive answer as to what coolant to use and where I can buy some? preferably off the shelf so I can get some fast.

From what I've read so far, your best to use genuine subaru coolant, so I went down to my nearest subaru garage and when I mentioned genuine subaru coolant, the parts manager never had a clue what I was talking about and said to just use normal coolant like what you can buy from Halfords as it is just normal coolant they put in the cars they service.

This garage is part of a citreon franchise but comes up on the subaru dealers page of the subaru uk website, it's in cupar, Fife.

If anyone has any info, recommendations or suggestions please let me know?

I'm wanting to get my scoob going again, I can't take driving a 1.0 litre corsa much longer,

Thanks

Ross

I don't think they use any specific coolants, it's not like oil or fuel where you have to be particular, just get the strengh right.
Mine's 97 classic WRX btw.

DO NOT USE HALFORDS ORGANIC PINK COOLANT. I did and it left all gung in my system. i have since flushed with comma blue non organic and the crud is gone but its still pink/purple.

the halfords stuff was so bad it would clog up my header tank cap every 50 miles.

RCM stock Silkolene Pro Cool stuff - so will obviously be okay then! Price? See below:-

Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Store

£6.04 per litre. Just looked on eBay and the cheapest non-brand stuff is £3 (which you prob wouldn't want to use), so the price of the Pro Cool seems well worth it.

Soz Joz. i put loz joz. Soz. I made a boob of myself.

btw, i've got a 5lte blue Halfords bottle of coolant to use, not that it needs regular top ups, it gets changed on its servicing. If you're having to top up alot maybe there's a leak?
