Default what ecu shall i use?

ive got a 1993 wrx and im thinking of putting in a z4 ecu (out of a version 1/2 sti) would this make any difference??? what ecu would you recommend?

i currently dont know what ecu i have in the car at the moment but i am running 1 bar of boost (14.5psi) with manual boost controller... with no fuel cut! so could it already be an uprated ecu in the car or can standard impreza ecu's run 1 bar without uprated fuel pump?

the z4 was never fitted to the sti your car should have the 2c ecu fitted, the standar stanadr ecu at 1 bar is right on the fuel cut limit, if you go any further up it will hit fuel cut, the standard fuel pump has nothing to do with what boost pressure your ecu runs.

You will need to get it checked on a rolling road as it could be any sort of map.

Open the ecu to make sure it does actaually have a Mines chip in it not just the sticker

Standard ecu

Try Thwaites developments (warwick), even if its just to have it checked on a wideband to make sure all is running correctly.

Just a little advanced

As Simon says - definitely get it checked for det (with det cans) and correct fueling. The maps on the Mines chip are generally too aggressive for UK fuel - they are designed for jap spec high octane so running it on vpower plus octane booster should be safe.
