Default hunting

at idle when warm its up and down between 800rpm and 2k rpm

not all the time but idle is generally high

only really happened over the past 2 weeks - idle was good before

tonight the engine check light came on, them when i drove for a min it went off, and didnt come back on

ideas?

Right, classic then, which was the important thing for us to know. So look up the black plugs "read memory" procedure and use it to find out what caused the CEL. Once you know that, isolating and fixing the problem should be very easy.

I had this happen when my dump valve died. I whipped the vac pipe off and blocked the T on the inlet manifold side which sorted the hunting. That was 6 months ago - should really get around to doing a proper fix!!!

ok did the fault reading with the black connectors

can someone point me to somwhere that tell me what the codes mean

mine was flashing 24

got it

24 - idle control system malfunction - didnt really need a code to indentify that lol

not really overly helpfull

anyone shed some light on what i should clean/replace?

try cleaning the icv,if no better then replace it,even better would be to possibly borrow a known good icv and try it first,before u pay out for another,personally i would just replace for new and reset ecu after installation,u do need to do this a the ecu will remember the fault until its been reset.
