Default oil pressure question

hi everyone just wondering if somebody can help. Just fitted oil pressure guage with sensor under alternator and to start off with it was showing my pressure as been about 2 bar on idle and 4 bar while driving but then after about 10 mins dropped to a maximum of 3 bar when driving and 0 on idle. I no i have an oil leak from rocker cover and my bottom end is knocking but still driveable till rebuild early next year could these affect it or could the sensor need tightening a bit more as not had chance to check for leaks as it was dark on returning home. Any help would be appreciated.

Bottom end knocking would do it. When my bottom end went my oil pressure dropped right down on idle.

stop driving it, sounds like the big ends have picked up and spun/worn. if you carry on driving it like this yo will end up needing a complete engine, trust me i had the same problem with my scoob last year. After i rebuilt my baby the oil pressure was at 60psi/4bar on idle and 105psi/7bar(ish) on driving (cold and hot), if your going to rebuild your engine i would recommend a new oil pump and acl race big/main bearings. Just a quick thought about your pressure gauge? was it new? may be a good idea to get the oil pressure checked with an oil pressure test kit just to make sure your gauges are telling you right.

My hot idle pressure is about 35- worth investing in decent gauges too- I got a Spa combo temp and pressure gauge, which has a spare outlet for a warning light, and adjustable alarms.

I have an orange led in my dash console to alert me if it goes below 30lbs

Yeah, big end shells needing replaced are part of this problem. I take it you're a sparky if you can fit a gauge, but not know the knockin is your engine rattlin itself to bits? lol
