for you guru's out there
i need a bit of advise. i have my engine all built up and ready to drop in the hole. But with the added power im gonna have the car will be running at higher temps right?
is there any more i can done to kept oil temps down? im running a mocal oil cooler and a race rad, but would a larger sump help?

Depends on how the power has been raised. If you've just increased the cc or stroked the engine then oil cooling is unlikely to be an issue, depending on the age of the car.
If on the other hand you're running higher boost pressures a larger turbo or an aggressive (i.e. lean) map then heat is more likely to be a problem. What mods are you running?

2ltr forge build using over size wiseco pistons
eagle rods
brand new cross drilled crank
acl race bearings
1.5mm metal headgaskets
V3 ported and polished sti heads
650 injectors
MD321T or S206 or GT35 haven't decided yet
apexi power fc with the intention of moving to simtec

Ok, don't know about the S206 but for the other two I would go with oil cooling to be safe. The challenge will be which one. For that I would speak to one of the following:
Subaru4you, Subaru Performance Specialists, Upgrades & Subaru Servicing
Car Tuning Performance Parts Graham Goode Racing
AndyForrestPerformance
Roger Clark Motorsport - Home
I've had great advice from the first two. Not dealt with the other two but others rate them very highly.

BHP from mine was increased by 50% and the water temp. hasn't altered, I only added an oil cooler for the (few) trackdays, my maximum oil temp. was 112 degrees so hardly necessary.
Has seen 2 bar of boost, but at a more sensible 1.65 bar nothing seems to phase it.
Yet....
