Default Quick ECU query please

Hi all, im sure this has been asked before but there are so many pages on here to go through I thought id ask instead.

I have a 94 WRX Wagon and have secured myself a z4 for it. My question is, is there any reason why I cant fit this and run it on the TD04 and standard injectors?

It also has a decat exhaust and induction kit.

Cheers for the help

As you probebly know the z4 is paired with the td05 and gives the best results when used with it, but l know people who have used the z4 for years with the tdo4 with no probs as it can handle the extra boost it gives aprox 1.0 bar.
l have a z4 in a wagon at present with a td04 and it runs better than it did with the standard ecu but l have a td05 ready to fit when the weather allows. some people say wait till you fit the tdo5 but as long as your engine and current turbo are in good nick you should be ok, upgrades are allways a risk on older engines so only do them if your sure as when they go wrong it costs.

Cheers, the car runs really well and feels really tight so I thought it would be ok to free some power up, ive also got a chip I can fit to the standard ecu which I may do and run a switch from the resistor for standard / uprated maps.

uprateing the ecu will be ok but be careful going too far with the plugin chip without the matchin spec it can cause problems.
