Urgent help. Fan wiring.
Ok, I have a 97 UK turbo that has two fans with high and low settings. Each fan has a harness with 3 wires, ground, high and low. Black is ground but I can’t tell what colours do what speed. Anyway I have fitted a new pair of fans but they only have one speed so use 2 wires. I posted on here for some advice but after no reply I just bridged across the harness hoping that the fans would come on if needed if they received power from both high and low wires.
This seemed fine at first but now the right fan comes on when the ignition is turned on and stays on even after starting.
I have just tried putting the original fans back on and they are doing the same. In test mode only the right fan is working. Could I have damaged the ECM.
Please help I need these new fans working as they are the only ones that will fit my new radiator.
