Default Spark plugs PFR7B-D

Hi all,

I just bought a set of plugs off ebay they where listed as PFR7B but what i got sent was PFR7B-D

NGK PFR7B Set of 4 Spark plugs SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO on eBay (end time 07-Sep-09 19:39:48 BST)

Are these ok to use?
What does the D mean on them?

Any help would be great

I bought a set of these off a guy on here. I think someone suggested that the 'D' variant were for taxis and had some sort of tougher coating on the ceramic......

Whatever it is, it's perfectly scooby safe

My PFR7B`s came in yellow box`s and they certainly are the platimun ones, it should have the number printed on the sparkplug as well just to make sure

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/docs/te...tnumberkey.pdf

There's how to identify spark plugs however there doesn't appear to be a D suffix listed. :/

The fairly recent group buy on here revealed they are 7B's and platinum tipped (the clue is in the P!) The D tells they are coated to resist the effects of running LPG They are identical other than that.
Don't forget that the standard Subaru fit is PFR6G and not 6B or 7B as almost all people replace them with!

dont get me wrong..
but when i brought plugs from subaru they said they fit the pfr6b's,as standard...
and all the scooby's i've help service always had 6b's in them...?
is the age a factor? older ones ran the "d" range, and newer ones the 6b's????

Subaru have fitted both the 6b & the 6g to their engines but have never used a "d"

93-95my = PFR6G
96-2000my = PFR6B
2001-2007 = PFR6G
2008 on = SILFR6A

The difference between the "b" & the "g" is the material that the cntr electrode is made out of.

I have found the "g" to be a more stable plug and less prone to missfiring, there have been numerous occasions on classic cars where the fittment of a 7b induced a missfire which was subsequently cured by fitting 7G's.

Lets get this clarified, the plugs in question are PFR7B-D NOT PFR7D I have a set and the only difference is that they have a gold appearance on the body and thread which I assume is the (anti-corrosion?) coating which makes them suitable for use with LPG.

They are PFR7B-D, thats whats on the box and the plug,

Just got this from the seller.

Hi Kieron
Before listing these plugs i tried to find out what the D was for..it seems they were marked as special order as we bought in bulk direct from NGK...the plug is actually exactly the same .....i have refunded your money and apologise for any confusion...please can you ensure the return of the plugs...!!!
Many thanks
Andy.

So i think ill send them back and just buy the one's with out the D on.

Thank you all for your help with this.
