Default Clear up Boost Creep & AVCR debate

Can someone please tell me if you can get rid of boost creep with the Apexi AVCR

Had a long debate with a mate about this. I'm saying no he's saying Yes.

I'm looking at porting the wastegate hole and a Forge actuator he's saying you can get rid of it with the AVCR

If the wastegate isn't big enough or its mouth is restrictive then boost control just won't work with creep.
Carry on with porting the wastegate and smoothing/opening up the entrance to it from the up-pipe side.
Also check that the wastegate opens fully and the area it opens to in the downpipe mouth isn't restrictive.

Yes you can, I had boost creep when I fitted the GT28RS and FMIC to my Fiat Coupe, by setting the gain to drop as the revs went up managed to get rid of it, lots of playing about though. Surely one of the mappers who has experince with the AVCR would be able to set it up for you.

GC8-r of course buddy he's helping me sort it.

There seems to be 2 ways to cure as you can see above.

I'm going to go with the first and port the wastegate hole.

I just wanted to see if my mate was right about using the AVCR to get rid of it.

Boost creep is the inability of a fully open wastegate to flow enough exhaust to control to target boost.
If boost starts rising from target in higher revs and is subsequently controlled by changes to boost mapping or via AVCR then it was a poor set up to start with and is NOT creep.

Bockett - do you definately have creep or just poor boost control ?

how bad is it creaping.. you can reduce the boost duty at higher rpm to try and help but it may be unable to drop it enough if the boost creap is bad etc
