Default Boost on newage stock ECU

As the title suggests, does anyone know (sure many will), Whats the maximum boost that can be run on stock ECU without boost controller?
Curiousity playing a part in the question but also wanting to know for future modifications
Thanks,
Tom

1.7bar with no overboost protection.
1.6 would be the max to keep some overboost safety.

Thanks Pete,
So ideally, if wanting to run more boost, say in the future, an aftermarket ECU will be required? Or would a boost controller over-ride the ECU's boost settings?

Boost controller will let you run more boost without the need for an aftermarket ECU. AVCR is rated as the best controller.

Thanks again Pete.
Think i'll have to invest in a boost controller at some point as the ECU market is fairly expensive!

Just make sure the boost controller is fitted before being mapped so the mapper can set it up correctly with his map.

IIRC the ecu just dumps fuel into the engine to cover the maximum boost used..... as it has no idea what the boost is doing !

I'm saving up for an ecu upgrade. Re-map plus boost controller = £600 (?) and won't do the job as well as a better ecu, IMHO.

I asked my mapper to map my car to the max boost the OEM ECU can cope with, What I said above was excatly what he told me.

I tend to listen to Andy F.

Of course an aftermarket ECU will give better performance otherwise whats the point in making them. To run more boost with OEM ECU then the boost controller will suvice.
