Bleeding clutch.
Please can someone run thru the propper way to bleed a classics clutch. I have a problem with my clutch not releasing fully when i press the clutch. I have pressed the clutch a few times, then remove the slave cylinder point the bleed nipple upwards and release some fluid with some air if you are lucky.
Now what i dont understand is, if i press the clutch pedal a few times i would really want to hold the pedal against the floor while i release the air/fluid. How would i do this if the slave is off and pointing to the sky?

you have to clamp the piston with a g clamp or similar when bleeding if you take the slave cylinder off, have someone pumping pedal in car and holding to the floor as you say, then let fluid out of nipple.thanks bryan

No mate, the pedal is good. If i release the air/fluid the next time i press the pedal it stays at the bottom, i have to lift it up by hand. The next time after that the pedal is good again. Its the most strange thing, it really is as if the pedal does not move enough to disengage the clutch. I am at my end with this. I am going to try bleed it again with a G-clamp, thanks guys.

i did it like this losen the bleed nipple, push the clutch pedal to the floor and keep it to the floor, then tighten the nipple, then pull the clutch pedal all the way up,do this repeatedly till the clutch feels better.
