Higher Revs At Idle
The cars doing quite high revs at idle sometimes, not massively over the top but around the 1500-2000k mark.
And when driving at higher revs, then putting foot on clutch (coasting) the revs go up, again not massively, but do go up then take ages to come down, although as soon as i changed into gear they settle again.
Any ideas?
I've just put an induction kit put on the car, i plan to move the filter into the wing but havent yet, so not sure if sucking in some hot air is to blame??
I've also just fitted a FMIC (DIY job) and am pretty confident in what i've done so cant imagine its to do with that... then again theres alot more people on here that know more than me so any ideas/opionions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mark

Mine does similar. As far as when you press the clutch, you are taking the load off the engine so it will rev up slightly. Just like if you were running dragging something heavy along the floor and I cut the rope you would speed up slighty before compensating. The higher revs at idle will be due to the ECU increasing the revs aselectric load or Air Con, for example are operating. Nothing to worry about unless it gets excessive.

Thanks for the reply.
Thing is i'm worried it will start getting excessive as sometimes i can be at around 3000 rpm and when i come to roundabout (so go into neutral) revs go upto 4000 or 5000 rpm. Its defo not normal

Tell me about it... any ideas?
Could it just be due to induction kit sucking in hot air, as its only started doing it since fitting that and the FMIC???

Also am now getting CHECK ENGINE light, and revs kind of bounce sometimes when it hits 1500rpm up to 2000 then back to 1500 then to 2000 and so on when in neutral.
Once engine has warmed up sometimes as said earlier also shoots up to 4000 or 5000rpm
And when switch engine off takes longer than normal for the revs to go down, probs coz there high when in neutral instead of the normal idle of 750rpm

Checked fault codes... there are none.
Reset ECU.
Does this mean that its nothing to do with the MAF? And more a physical thing like the throttle needs adjusting or something that i'm not thinking of???

I had similar problems - revs went up and down when in neutral.
Took out the idlevalve and cleaned it, problem solved to a degree.
I only have revs sticking at about 1200rpm for some seconds sometimes when I step onto the clutchpedal and stop the car, then it normally set´s back to 860rpm idle revs.
I have got an Apexi Power FC.
