Default '99 Impreza

Hi, I'm picking up my scoob tomorrow and can't wait to pull it apart this weekend! It's my first subaru (had a bmw 325 for a while) and I'm after some advice. It's got an STi rear box and some dump valve fitted and that is it, the guy I'm buying it off doesn't know of any other modifications but he says he cant be sure it hasn't been mapped.
What I'd like to know from you lot, is there anything I need to check on it? Anything I should give a little clean/tighten/replace etc. It's not due another service for 5K. Basically I need to be sure this car is mechanically sound and would like some suggestions on how best to check it out!
Thanks guys/girls

yeah its got full subaru service and cambelt was done 30K ago (need doing again?)
there is no receipt of the possible mapping and the only reason he thinks it may have been done is because its noticeably quicker than his brothers scoob. Could be a load of nonsense i know!
it needs new tyres and front brakes are low on pads, i was thinking some EBC discs and redstuff pads from scoobyworld and tires, I haven't got a clue! Any recommendations for a 16" wheel?
Thanks!

If you fit a cheap boost gauge that should soon tell you if it's been messed with.

We have some great offers on discs and pads at the moment (will PM you).

For tyres I would recommend Goodyear GSD3 F1s or Toyo T1Rs from MyTyres
