Default Slight Petrol smell...

Guys,

Got in me UK T2000 PPP and could smell petrol ever so slightly. The car gives me 80 miles for 20 quid. I heard the smell's due to the remap of the ecu (PPP) (so running rich)? Or could it be something else, like a leaking fuel rail? Any ideas?

Thanks

Have a look at the pipe that carries the fuel from the filler cap to the tank.

I had the same problem and it was due to a very small spilt in the pipe.

Guys,

I've been trying to locate any leak possible but I'm not a good mechanic!
I've had my mate look at it (RAC fella) and he says it could be the FPR. He checked the engine bay and thought thats why it might be the FPR. However, we did smell the strongest scent of petrol where I fill the car up (drivers side). But then this would be obvious wouldn't it?
I then drove in reverse at like 2 mph and notcied some drips of petrol. So there is a leak but from where? Could it be the fuel tank? How hard is it to check the pipe? Is this a common problem? I'd appreciate all your help guys!

Pop the bonnet up, on the passenger side there is a pipe coming through the bulkhead, mine was leaking from there (its an alloy pipe with a nut on it) so you can check there also

Tony,

Many thanks, do you have a picture of the location your talking about? That would help Just a bit worried that my car's gonna set on fire if i'm not careful and the leak's in the wrong place! The car is overfuelling I can smell it but could it be something else, like the MAF sensor, Lambda sensor, Prodrive ECU or anything else?

Thanks

My MY00 PPP'd car never smelt of fuel, but the location is the far corner (pass side) coming out the bulkhead, will see if i can get a pic for you
