Default Keep or remove carbon canister for max power on a classic turbo?

To gain max possible power output of a classic imp turbo, keep or loose carbon canister? Or does it have no effect, as it has a vac pipe to inlet manifold.

Nope not oil catch, thats different item. carbon canister for emissions, just curious really as that puts fuel vapours into intake manifold and wondering if effects a/f ratio etc, i know will be minmal but why do people take them off? Is it purely weight saving?

Carbon cannister isn't heavy, and I think it's purely for emmissions.

Doddle to get rid of it.

Just loop the pipe as in the pic below.

there is a non return valve and it is tee'd off the vac pipe going to the purge control & again a non return from the intake pipe as before no power gain just weight and space i removed mine when i removed the stock hard pipes from under the inlet when fitting parallel fuel rails
the wieght and space was ment as a bit of a joke...

I ditched mine when i went with parallel rails, freed up some space under the inlet.
