Default impreza not starting

I have a mate with a early wrx turbo.

His problem is the car wouldnt rev above 2k, then it would struggle to start and now wont start at all.

He has changed the maf and fuel pump but it seem the fuel pump can not be heard when you turn the ignition on, the engine does turn. I have said to check the earth points and check the wiring. Is there anyone that has suffered this before?

many thanks lee

Checked the wiring under the back seat?
also check the pump fuse?

If both ok I would check to see if the pump is getting voltage on ignition.
If no voltage could be a few things.

fuel pump relay
Alarm/immobiliser
faulty ECU

hope this is of some help.

yes sry i misread that if the fuel pump aint pumping get a cheap meter and try the power but more than likely check the earthing
but if you dont think its pumping at all unattach it at the engine end and try starting the car it should spray out
