Default Not running right ...

Okay guys (and gals),

Car is not running properly still !!

I have changed all the coilpacks and spark plugs and that was the original suggestion when I last posted.

When accelerating hard, it starts to feel like it is being held back at around 3-4k (more noticable in 3rd 4th gear).

The car has always thrown up the cam (?) position sensor code up, and I have noticed that it runs particulary bad when the CEL is on .... Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

I haven't, but I have been told that is probably not the MAF sensor ....

Don't know how to check if it is okay either

Is your DV leaking ? Might be worth bunging the old one back on, or checking the gasket.

Wild card suggestion, but bugs have particularly bad earthing for some reason. Try anb earthing kit. I have regularly heard the phrase 'random fault code generator' used to describe a bug ECU, possibly because of this alleged earthing issue

Mine is exactly the same, I have a front lambda sensor fault code that keeps on reappearing. Out playing in the searing heat 2 weeks ago and not a peep, ran like a dream.

Last weekend and this weekend drove up to Lincoln and back. On the way there nothing for 90 miles, get to the twisties and have a play and it lights up. Reset it and no more problems. On the way home, cruising down the A1 and it comes on after 50 miles, reset it and all is fine all the way home.

Headers are coming off to be replaced with some ported and wrapped ones so I'll look at it properly then, but it is so annoying (and random)
