Damn! mine has been looking a bit wobbly at 70+.
Glad you are ok mate. It's definately fixable. It wouldn't be like the kind of damage you get when its rolled.
You've just got to decide if you want to go insurance or not. Cos it will be a write off for sure.

Omg give the man a break, gutted for you, had this some 10 years ago in a subaru leone i had, had checked the oil level before going on a longer trip, close bonnet and drive off, came to a hill top where there was gust of wind and smack the bonnet came up and smased into the windscreen, almost **** myself, was only able to see out a small gap down at the wipers
since then all cars ive had made sure to grease the bonnet lock up good every now and then, problem was that even the safety catch wasent working, hope you get it sorted

sorry (it made me laugh -- but not a the OP obviously)
anyway I think we know the facts here, economically its a right off, but thats not the same as saying its not repairable
and i say this as a driver of a tidy MY00 Wagon -- its a nice car but i dont kid myself it worth anything more that £1500 tops, so any bill over 5/600 quid and I wouid prob scrap it
a similiar thing happend to my MK2 Golf -- someone went into the back of me
in the end I agreed a settlement figure with the insurance company, but I also bought it off the insurance aswell (all included/adjusted in the payout amount)
I then sold it for scrap so actually didnt do too badly, I was going to get it roadworthy again -- but it was going to be just too much money, but the OP could do basically what I did but instead of scrapping it repair it
the beauty of Subaru's is that there are tons of spares on ebay etc
good luck

It costs you 10% of what they pay you, just got £2000 for my93 wrx which was mint took a bit of haggling tho ,then bought it off them so got car and £1800 , then stripped car and got over £2500 for all the upgraded bits off the car , so worked out okay .

as KLR16V says -- I had to haggle the amount up (it was an Oak Green Big Bumber 16V so sort of a classic)
and in the end they gave me £1350.00 settlement less £200 odd quid , so I eneded up with about £1100.00 plus the car (still legally mine)
but mine had heavy rear -- the boot would'nt shut and they CAT D'd it which ment it would have to go thru a DVLA inspection before being put on the road
(i would have been quite prepared tom just drive it around being a bit bashed up tbh)
so in the end scrapped whole to a bloke for about £500
ps I do know how you feel -- the other day I changed my rocker gasket, tried to re-use the old one, when I went for a quick test drive, oil spurted onto turbo and the whole thing caught fire, I was standing by the A428 looking at flame comming out of my open bonnet and my car about to go up in a fireball when, with the help of a passer by I managed to put it out -- but for about 3/4 mins I thought bye bye car, followed by what I **** i was, I didnt even have my phone on me
least you are OK

The same happened to a mate with an Evo VI. It cost him £2.1K to put right. Depends on what the insurance will pay out and how good the rest of the car is reliability wise. If your engines smoking and your gearbox wining, might be worth breaking, but if everything else is sweat and you looked after it well, it might be worth spending to put right.
