Default Intermittent Boost ?

I have recently connected up the boost solenoid correctly instead of it being bypassed from the actuator directly to the compressor outlet, this made a noticeable difference in boost however it is intermittent ? I did reset the ecu after changing the boost solenoid plunbing.

Are the vac hoses that go to the WG and compressor attached the right way round?!

Is the restrictor pill present?

Check these two things first and if okay then perhaps disconnect the BCS tonight and squirt barke/clutch cleaner through all its ports and hang it up in a shed/garage to let the fluid wholly evaporate. Refit the the next morning.

Hopefully this might rectify your issue...

Default re - intermittent Boost

Mine is a three port solenoid, top port to compressor outlet, middle port to actuator etc boost is good when working correctly, as for restriter pill where is it and what does it look like ?

It is a jdm import and is unfortunatly restricted.

The 3-port has a vac hose recircs purged air to the intake system. The hose attaches to the bottom port and there's a 45-deg 'leg' to it - the resrictor should be in that part of the hose. If you press your fingers hard around that area you should easily feel it, as its a hard, narrow brass tube with a tiny venturi drilled all the way through its length.

Default Re boost

Took boost solenoid off this afternoon and flushed it with brake cleaner then left it out to dry, tried it this evening still the same! Could it be just fuel as fairly sure it only seemed to be ok when using Shell top fuelas opposed to Tesco or Waitrose high octaine fuel ? It is Jdm

Fuel shouldn't be a problem - the ECU would retard/adv the timing for it, as necessary.

You didn't somehow disturb the wastegate connecting rod or somesuch, when you fitted the BCS's hose to it? Just a thought.

Regardless, I'd check all of the various vac hose of the boost control system plus the turbo and IC pipes, etc...

Yes, the lack of pill could well be your issue - defo replace that first, before condemning anything else.

Email/PM Jolly Green Monster or Scott T. - they'll be able to tell you what size hole the pill should have and where to get one from, etc. They may even have some knocking about...
