Default which crank to choose for V3 WRX rebuild

Hi,

I'm having my v3 wrx rebuilt with manley rods, mahle pistons, acl race bearings, cometic head gaskets but i'm stuck on which crank to choose. My block is the center thrust type. However i could get it machined so it could take the rear thrust sti 9 crank. I'm on a budget and dont want to spend money where its not neccessary....i'm already over budget!!

What sort of power output is the orginal center thrust crank good/reliable for. i'm going to be running just shy of 300bhp and dont envisage taking it any higher than 350bhp in the future. I do like to drive it hard occassionly and would like to do a couple track days a year.

Is the standard center thrust upto the job?

Cheers

Standard crank will be absolutely fine at that power level, you can get V9 that will fit the center thrust block without machining, advanced automotive (Bristol) stock them.
