Default Idle valve on my 97,where you at????

Hi guy's

Having a problem getting my impreza to idle today,a mate of mine said try the idle control valve. Its ticks over ok with the choke on but when its warm,it goes to stall then shoots back up to 0.9 then down again, then up. Does this until it stall's.

Any idea's or know where this valve is?

Thanks for your time

Mike

I had a simular prob on my sti 3, the valve was to the back right of the red inlet manifold when looking under the bonnet, i never adjusted mine but did remove the hole thing and blasted some carb cleaner through it.
That sorted my little problem and now runs fine, i hope this is some help but im sure someone else will have plenty more advice.

Cheers for that mate.

Anyone got a picture showing me exactly where it is?

As you look at the engine it is mounted on the rear of the right hand side of the inlet manifold.
Remove it and clean it up.
Mine used to idle high,it would drop to normal level if you tapped top of valve with something. Was fine once cleaned.

Yeah you know.

I unscrewed the 2 screws on the top, there was like a circle magnet in there dont think that was it. Theres 2 bolts at the back of it,think thats how to get in there. But mines a mare to get in there with a spanner or socket.

We need some help here guys
