Damn Fuel!!!
What fuel do you guys recommend for your import STI's?, I've got a 555 STI v2 and have been using Shell V-Power, but I've been hearing goood things about Tesco 99 octane and BP Ultimate. I've only had the car a while and am aware that import cars are set up to run on 100 octane in the JDM. Price is not a cosideration as the car is a garage queen, but performance and reliability are premium for me

your car was never set up to run on 100 ron as it wasn't out when your car was released.
Anything over 98 will be fine.
BP Ultimate doesn't seem to agree with imprezas for some reason (most mappers recommend V power or Tescos 99)

Shell V-Power was the reason the engine on my Type R blew, due to a faulty batch!!!!
So its not just tesco.
I use tesco 99 on my V2 STi and never had a problem with it, plus you can get your clubcard points too

Yeah, the best advide is to make sure you fill up at staions that have a large daily throuhput of cars - even if it means you have to queue for longer!
The reason is that a busy forecourt = fresh fuel always in the underground tanks. This means that it never has chance to go 'off'; go stale. This would lower the octane rating... hence horror stories, like the above.
