How to remove intercooler on newage
Hi all,
I've got a couple of replacement hoses for my intercooler on my 01 WRX, so at some stage I'd like to whip it off and fit them.
I tried doing this a few weekends back, and although I managed to get both bolts off each side of the i/c, and removed the recirc valve, slackened the wormdrive clips on the main hose, I couldn't get the intercooler off.
Can someone point me at a removal / swap guide which shows how to do this with pics preferably? Have done a forum search but could only find a fitting guide for new age I/C's to classics, which I'm assuming won't be the same.
Anybody offer me assistance?
Cheers,
G

Sounds like you were almost there - did you also undo the jubilee clip holding the black hose onto the turbo outlet? There are also three breather hoses to pull off from the metal pipework along the IC front.
Then just wiggle the IC up and to the back.
One trick to make putting the IC back on is to undo the passenger side IC support arm at the manifold (2 short bolts close together) rather than the single long bolt on the IC side.
