i think head gasket is gone not 100% how can i tell
hi got a subaru impreza 2l turbo import 4dr on 1995
the car overheated recently and i had steam pushing out of the bottom pipe of the raidiator near exhaust manafold.
i topped it up with water and the water is now leaking from the very same pipe but now the cars seems to cut out sometimes wile im driving when i accelerate..
has any one got a clue what it could be.
some one told me it might be headgasket.

Sounds more like your piping is naffed or is it the plastic piping on the radiator? that can age and crack causing problems.
In most cases you need to do 1 of 2 things, stop ragging the car around, it wont help the situation and probably will cause you to have a head gasket failure, which is about 8 times the price of a new radiator, and take it to a speciallist to get the car checked out.

one of the ways to test for headgasget it to do a 'sniffer' test on the coolant system. this will confirm whether there is any combustion gases in the cooling system. any decent garage will do it. got a sniffer kit in my van if you want it done at the weekend. im in Herts

if the system is been pressurized (by a failed gasket) then you would get water spewing out of the overflow by the battery not at the bottom hose. My guess is that you only need to change the hose, flush the rad/check rad for leaks.

In my humble opinion i would go along with Turbotits and find a local garage or tuning place and use a gas analiser placed over the header tank (with cap off) while engine running it will detect any combustion gases within cooling system and will confirm your suspicions or if not present then you can look elsewhere
