Default Do i need injectors

Hey,

I have a v6 wrx ra with 440cc phase 2 injectors.
I'm just about to fit a FMIC, vf24 turbo, bigger fuel pump and have a remap.
other bits i have on the car are full blitz nur and induction kit.

Was wondering if whilst doing all this, should i a new set of injectors?

would 550cc make a difference?

Thanks!

Rajiv

Not an expert so wouldn't know what power you will be putting out but have a look at this, it's just a guideline:

thanks for the info....looks like there is a big jump between the 440cc and 550cc injectors. might be worth while after all......

I would expect you to already have something like a VF28 fitted, which is a later version of the VF24.

Sounds like you're swapping "like for like" !

The 440's should cope with the VF24 or similar, and the Walbro.

Mark.

im going the vf35 route and i have the standard 440s,i spoke to my mapper about this and he said that they would be fine to about 320bhp,im only heading for hopefully about 300bhp so unless u gonna go for 350 ish with front mount etc then im sure the 440s will be fine.

550s mate,im pretty sure the 440s would be well maxed out at 350 bhp, dont think the 440s would let u reach that power level.

u may need to find out wether or not the turbo u have is capable of producing 350bhp,cause if not and u r not intending to go bigger then the injectors wouldnt be required, check this out first as im unsure what that turbo is capable of!

if your trying for around 350 then 440's will be fine, they wont max out at 320, unless of course your set are on the way out.

you wont need a fuel pressure reg either

i'm running 340bhp on vf34, 440's, standard pressure reg, full decat, front mount, induction kit and autronics ecu plus support bits (oil cooler etc). Its a my00 uk turbo by the way.

tbh i had pretty bad temps befor ehand, easily hit 100 on warmer days, i'm pretty cautious so when i hit 105 i backed off, after seeing it a few times i decided to get the cooler, not seen over 95 degrees now, one of the best mods i've had i think

dunno tbh, the days the hot temps were seen it was prob 25 degrees + so doubt it could cope, not exactly the most efficient of cooling mechanisms lol

now i've seen the temps they just dont move other than within a certain range, oil cooler kicks in at high 80's, drops off at 80. so engine's always warm enough but not too hot

Tidgy, your AFR's are on the aggressive side(nothing wrong with that), I personally would go for 550's every time for over 320ish.

nee bother, if i had a set of 380s and had the choice of buying a set 440's or 550's id go for 550's everytime.

there's alot of myths and false info out there about what parts can take, can't take. also shouldn't be forgotten that scoobs are a pain in the *** for mods, different scoobs tend to react differently to exactly the same mods. it would surprise me to see a car max out the 440's at 320, but i think its not worth doing them unless you have need to. the sti could take more than a uk turbo, but i wouldn't want to push it much further than that either. 99% of tuners will have several sets on the shelf anyway, so worst case you find you need to and they can be switched out easily

still running fine though on the 440's though,,, pmsl nah im taking the micky, i think its a bit of an area of debate, arguments for and against. all i can tell you is mine is fine and has run on the dyno several times since being mapped, all within about 5 bhp on varying amient conditions.

im by no means a mapper or mechanic, so i go on what my mapper tells me and the graph was done about a year after it was mapped, same dyno etc and they didn't pull it up as a problem.
