Over revving on start up??
Hi all, i just wanted to check if this is normal really as this is my first scooby!
I have a 99 UK Classic and when i first start it up from cold it sounds and feels like its revving abit too much. It revs at around 2000rpm for about 5 mins then drop down to normal revs. I know that from cold the engine does need to warm up but it just sounds like its revving that bit too much. Is this normal or could it be one of the hundreds of sensors playing up?
Cheers in advance!

That is higher than it should be. Around 1500/1600 is normal immediately form cold. After a few seconds, a small blip on the throttle should bring the revs down a little.
Make sure you have no air leaks anywhere. If ok, you may need to give the cold start/idle control a clean.
