Default Need help please! wont start

Hi all im new to this forum, and was wondering if i could have some help with this.

Checked my timing thats fine.
I get spark, i get fuel "don't know how good spark is" Plugs get coverd in fuel.

Get code 24 idle control valve, had this problem a while now it aint this. Also opened the valve manual still no good.

I turn engine over but it just doesnt jump into life. What happend, i was in 5th gear doing 35mph and car cut out and flame came out of exhaust. Ever since then car wont start.

Anyone else had this problem? Is this my cam sensor or crank sensor playing up? However don't get code for either?

Anyhelp please thanks. Car is a 1993 impreza import sti v1

Was one of first things i did. Thanks for reply tho everything is helpfull

Would it be crank or cam sensor? tho no fault codes for this?

Timing is deffently right, all lines up.

Gonna invest in a new idle control valve as i know this has deffo gone, but it had been gone for ages lol.

Running out of ideas, can't see it been cam wheel they are brand bloody new lol.

the cam and crank sensors are a common reason for these things not starting, fuel pump priming?

Yep getting fuel.

Cam/crank sensors seem real expensive for import classics

Any1 breaking one and want to sell these two items?

Yea,

And yea did worry me why it slipped in first place, Could not see any reason why. Belt was in perfect conndition the belt had only done about 300miles since i did HG change. The idler tensioners etc where all fine also. The engine it's self has only done about 3k miles since been recon'd

Just took her out and everything working perfect. Loads of pull, Fine on and of boost. And no nasty sounds from engine.

Guess i was lucky 2 only be doing 30mph doing 1.3k revs in 5th gear when it happend?

Was the tensioner unit itself ok - no leaks and the tensioner locking pin was removed after the cambelt fit ??

Yea was working perfect.

Everything was perfect. Done so many belt changes on diff cars, this my 3rd one on an impreza. just mind bobberling. Nothing apeared to be wrong, no reason why it did slipp.

Atm just happy nothing inside the engine has been damaged. Had a very lucky escape Really diden't want this to be my secend rebuild lol.

Sounds like you were very lucky not to bend any valves - i would check the belt tension again in a couple of days for peace of mind as they dont normally jump/slip for no apparent reason.
