have one on my 2001 STI for last few months without any problems at all.

Tho i am removing it as having a FMIC fitted and using a matching hyperflow mesh filter.

It seems as if they've revised them, I believe this is the one that likes to kill MAFs HKS USA Super Mega Flow Kits

As it's a wet filter, but it also mentions that it's now avaliable with a 3 layer dry filter instead.

The one Stalked has linked is a "Reloaded" model, and is only avaliable as a 3 layer dry filter, so it should come with none of the problems that the wet mushroom filters had.

Just replaced mine with the standard box filter last wkend after my car was running a little rough and I have to say its allot smoother now! I wouldn't recommend one without an aftermarket ECU and no MAF sensor!
