FAO of those that have gone from a Classic to a Newage Blob/Hawkeye!
Hi All
i need your experiences with the newage, ive never sat/been in one but now i havnt got a car and ive had 3 classics before i have really fallen in love with the looks of these! i see them everywhere here in Daventry!
so my question is what are they like to drive? i like a nice raw drivers car for the country roads and i like to feel the thrust and being thrown back in your seat like when ina classic.. does the newage throw you back in your seat like the classic does? or is the power delievery different?
i just want to know what the driving experience is like not as an everyday car but as a 2nd fun car and if you prefer the newage and why? or if youve gone back to a classic?
Let me know as i believe this will be the final question as to whether i'll be going for a newage or version 6 classic again as the drive and feel is more important than looks for me
Cheers

You will need a modded car to get that feeling. Standard new-age cars are quite refined, but quick.
I'm old and love mine (2002 STI), after 4-1/2 years with my Catalunya.
Stick with an RA or type-R. IMHO
Or you will need 340 bhp + to make a heavier new-age car feel quick, I'm heading for 400 now....

Would agree with the modded comment. As std, the 06STi was quicker than my old classic, but the old classic had far more of a shove in the back (mainly 'cos it was gutless until about 3k-4k then it went ballistic - TD05), the 06 has a lot more power and torque than it though everywhere. Quick change of exhaust and remap and you'll get a similar feel from a newage.

if its going to be a lil more like my friends m3 smooth power delivery lol i dont want

Classic every time for me.
I had a 320bhp classic MY99 with a VF28 and now have a 51 plate WRX and feel like I'm chasing the dragon, lol. Getting mapped on the 20th with a VF30 though, so we'll see what happens........
If I dont like it, I'm selling and getting a diesel Mondeo for the family and an STi Ra for myself, stripping the interior out, fitting a cage and then modding the engine

haha sounds like a plan
type r or ra im not fussed but tbh it gotta be a minter! with engine rebuild! since they are going dirt cheap now , im sure i'll find that one that standas out.
as for my family, well i have a bora and clio for them to drive, lol so no complaints from themlol so a nice 2 door and 2 seater scooby is fine with me :P

We tried a 53 plate blobeye but were so dissappointed we sold it within 3 months and went back to our UK classics (in themselves not the fastest of scoobs, but streets ahead in driving experience)
