Default cambelt change

Hi , i am going to be getting my cambelt changed next week and was wondering if it is worth getting my oil pump and water pump changed at the same time or is there a way to to get them checked while doing the belt.
my car has done 90000 miles.
thanks

im having my belt done tommorow, im going to ask the garage to check water pump and oil pump too. ill let you know what they say/ how they check. apparantly the backing plate on the oil pump can come loose and cause problems.

i wouldn't worry about ur water pump too much, i've never have one fail on me. but change of oil pump is highly advised. i bought an uprated one from a company called advanced automotives in bristol for £140 plus postage. well worth it. i spoke to a guy called nick in the workshop, he gives only the best information. if u ring him and ask him he will advise u best. here's his number: 0117 967 2344. tell him that u got the number from a guy called saxx

the water pump can go. i find if theres no play at all. then it should be fine. shouldent be to loose either.

regards to the oil pump. you may not need to change it
but worth doing, as aboth. try and get an uprated one if posable.
i had one go on me.

these belts are quite easy to change too

the garage are doing mine now. they are taking the oil pump off to check the backing plate, then they have to locktight it back on. they also agreed that they check the water pump anyway.

crank seal is worth changing as they tend to fail arounf 100k..

also check the cam seals.

yes i think the pump is just bolted on with a couple bolts. no need to drop the oil from the engine as i understand. just plug/catch what is lost and top up after.

Water pumps can be had for £40.
The best place/price i found a modded oil pump was Api.It comes with a new crank and oil seal It's in red wrinkle paint too!
The oil pumps easy if you can get the toothed pulley off, which can be a mare! Just make sure you use some good gasket sealant when re-fitting it.
Water pumps easy enough, but i never changed it, as it was fine.
