Default Lots of hp-High Insurance?

Thinking of upgrading turbo and a few other bits next year sometime.
I was just wondering how my insurance will be effected by a 100bhp upgrade?
Can anyone give me an idea?
Thanks.

ausmatt As above, why wouldnt you tell them, unless you want to loose your car and get your *** sued for any expenses and personal injury claims, hmm

Guess things work a little different here, only just landed, don't need insurance over there for a start, if you do have it then you def don't need to tell em its modified.
Oh and lastly, I just bought one here, insured, they didn't ask me if it was modified, so not lying, as long as it falls within adr specs, no prob. thats what I was getting at!

Lots of factors make up your premium not just the power or mods. Just insured mine with Gary @ Kieth Michaels saved me £150min but a much better policy and my few mods are declared, he upped the value of my vehicle by £500 to cover the cost of the mods

100 bhp on it's own is silly, up-rated brakes, suspension as a package far more sensible.

I'm 140 bhp up now and it's free 'cos I'm very old !

having dealt with insurance assesers they don't have a clue. how would they no by having a quick look at a turbo if its not standard.

they look at accident damage. fair enough like wheels suspension etc pretty hard not to no thats after market. but not turbos and injectors etc.

100bhp increase is almost 50% in power, depending on yrs no claims and age will depend on extra they charge.
mid 20s i would expect a fare few £££s extra.
