Unhappy MY99 Won't start, ideas?

Just been to start the car and it won't fire up. Battery is fine, engine is turning over just not firing. No engine light on when starting.

Car did feel a bit sluggish last night

Are there any common faults that can cause this? or anything I can try to eliminate?

thanks in advance
Martin

Ok just been out to check to see if any fault codes have been stored and the car started no fault light lit.

Checked codes stored in ecu and code 12 was stored from what I can find out this is the starter switch? What causes this fault?

Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you knock the ignition on mate? Same thing happened to the misses last week , i couldn't hear hers running so run a live feed direct to it , gave it a bang and it started pumping. car then started straight away. Ended up changing the pump later that day and its been fine since.

Also check the crank and cam sensors. Crank sensor is located under the alternator and the cam sensor is located on the passenger next to the battery.

Unhappy

The saga continues, car been running fine since it restarted on sunday night, so not found any fault yet. Then on the way home tonight car cuts out and won't restart. So get car towed home so can check fuel and ignition and the car started.
Have gone round check various connections with the engine running and nothing loose. Checked the fault codes and nothing.
Any ideas?

I have had a similar problem. My MY99 cut out on me at some traffic lights. Then while waiting for the AA, decided it was time to start again. Didn't miss a beat for the next 2 weeks then would not start. After an 30 mins with an auto electrician, found the fault was a failing imobiliser circuit. Was intermittantly cutting out the fuel pump circuit, until now when it had finaly gone.

Thats the first place i would look, if i was u. Looking back sometime the car was a little slow to start but nothing which made me worry, but i believe i had this problem for some time before it finally went.

Hope this helps.
