Default Check engine light,

Hi all i have recently purchased a uk turbo 2000, The car is fantastic and i love it only problem is the check engine light comes on when im going up a hill. Have checked all the levels and all seem 2 be spot on.
Any advice welcome on this matter. Thanks alot Dani.

uummm not heard if coming on when going up hill, could be anything, what sort of revs u doing when it comes on, i agree with what waht myblackwrx says,

what area u in mate, so someone can recomend u to someone,

i am in south devon, it usally happens around 4000 revs ?

If it comes on at part throttle and goes off after a minute or two, it could be the lambda sensor on its way out. Nothing too much to worry about in the short-term.

yes it stays on up the hill and as soon as the road levels it goes out straight away,

In that case, my guess would be lambda sensor.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it too much, but you could get a non-OE replacement part for around £30 that should fit in the exhaust downpipe.

Have just had it serviced by main dealer and have have checked oils there fine, where would i find a non - oe replacement part?

Was it OK before the service ? If so take it back to the dealer.

no it did it before the service was done once or twice, i asked them to have a look and they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it !

oh right, dout its that then,

only said that coz if ihave to put in norm unleaded (to get me to v-power) my light comes on at high revs,

on the engine tuners web site theres a bit called ask alan, tell him ur prob, he'll be able to help, he's norm pretty quick on replying aswell,

Sounds like a dicky cam sensor to me.
Does it only do it at higher revs?

Do the ECU check, as mentioned: Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes

That way there would be no guessing.
But my two pence would be something boost related. going up the hill is putting the engine under load, and by 4k you will be boosting anyway.
so check it out.

How steep are the hills? does it come on during WOT?

no only around half throttle it has 2 be a fairly steep hill 2 come on !
