Default Engine won't come out!

Hi all, I've spent a frustrating hour trying to get the engine out of my '01 bugeye wrx. Ropes around the inlet manifold, mounts are out, box is unbolted etc. Problem seems to be the engine won't come out "square". I've got a gap of an inch plus around the bell housing but no matter how I jack the box and/or the engine it won't come forward that last bit to free it. Any suggestions?

Headders off is much easier. They foul the crossmenmmber at the front quite easilly.

Jack the box as high as it'll go and there is no reason why it wont come out if, as you say you have pulled the big pin out on the clutch release pivot.
Taking the headers off might make it slightly easier, yes.
Leave the bottom studs alone though.

Just because you said it first, does not necessarily make your "opinion" correct.
He's entitled to also say it and it in fact backs you up... What's your beef?

Ah, it's out. turned out to be the sports cat fouling the o/side front driveshaft. I was trying to remove it still connected as the turbo/downpipe bolts were ba****d tight. I had no luck removing the bottom one for about 1/2 an hour. It finally came out by combining several different bits of snap-on whilst jacking both the engine and box whilst semi-parted.
Every days a school day!
