I think the rolling road you used was in need of calibration
But you should upgrade your injectors, the 440's will struggle at 350bhp, and I would look at replacing the gearbox when it goes bang, but apart from that and the fact that if you have not changed your brakes, I would spend on more supporting mods first

Stopping is always important one of the first things I did when I had my classic was to upgrade the subaru 4 pots to brembo 4 pots (not the STi type) with 305mm discs, such a transformation it means you get that little extra time as you can brake later and dont get fade, but you need to watch out for the ammount of torque your car will push with the gearbox, your options for the future are PPG or 6 speed, dont go for an STI 5 speed, not much difference in strength, and 350 is about as far as you want to go on those internals though some people have run 400bhp, your getting to the point of expense v reliability now

sound words. i live a short distance from Ian Godspeed in S.Wales, so brakes are quite sorted. to be honest Tony, 350 is a bit far fetched on my side. i would be happy with 330bhp, but you can hope. the torque figures are already huge for my type of car so the gearbox is a bit of a worry. i could not give you an exact figure for the torque but it made 350ft/lbs on the road in swindon with Bob.

My RB5 also made over 290bhp with the old TD04, i got 305bhp at a recent rolling road day, and the rollers were spot on cuz an sti PPP quoted at 305 made 315 with an exhaust, and an RB320 made 324bhp, it was standard.

I now have a TD05 18G though and havent had a chance to get back to the rollers yet so dunno what its making

I would of thought the standard 4 pots would of been ok with 350bhp, depends how you drive i supose and if its used on a track or just the road, some decent discs and pads wouldnt be a bad idea.

My old my00 made 310bhp with a vf35 and loads of suporting mods at 1.25bar but im sure it was capable of a bit more with a tad more boost, i think the vf35 is not that hard on the gearbox compared to the td05's.

May i just ask a question here?? WHY do people seem more concerned in making DYNO numbers rather than a quick realiable road car??

I remember all this from my cossie days, people wanting 500bhp so they can tell people down the pub, just get yourself a quick raod car with good brakes etc and i,m sure you,ll be a happy chappy...take it from someone who knows...LOL

Just to give you and idea as Iv got similar mods on my MY98 UK

Full de-cat
Induction Kit
VF35
Walbro Fuel pump
3 port solenoid
Hybrid FMIC
Apexi FC
440cc injectors

Havnt had it on the rollers as Im not to fussed about figures but its been estimated at around 320BHP By Paul at Zen. This is at 1.4bar but unfortunatly Im losing a bit because of my exhaust. Sounds nice but lacks functionality.

Im not sure about brakes but braided lines and better discs are recommended IMO, which is next on my list but my standard ones seem to be doing the job for now.

RR figures are good to have as they give you an idea of what the car is producing, but IMO are never accurate and you may well find that the figures vary at different RR`s.
