All depends on the money you want to spend.

I would say it depends what you want out of the car, and what the budget is. Front mounts are the usual way forward, but you can get great top mounts, and you don't get the pressure drop.

Well, I have heard that before, but price does end up mattering in the end. You can get 350 from a std STI top mount. Decent uprated top will get you an easy 400, but you are in the realms of heat soak after that.
You could get an amazing custom top mount made if you really have the cash to splash, but then your talking 1000s

FMIC, again if you have the cash then I would say get reverse plenum inlet manifold and a FMIC to suit that. You don't get so much extra lag/pressure drop (as the pipes are shorter).

I am sure the FMIC lovin boys will slate me here, but you can do better than the off the shelf FMIC with a custom top mount, if you can get it made right. It's all about the core design, not the size. I am currently running 20deg advance at 1.7 bar with a top mount (think thats what they told me), no sign of det and no drop in pressure or extra lag at all.

I can get the exact figures if you like, next time I speak to the garage.

/Cowers, and expects the FMIC beating!

Give Chevron motorsport a call in the week, ask for Simon. Tell them what you want from the car and ask about the trick intercooler on their test road car. Be honest what you want from the car though as Simon will tell you whats best for what you want. I.E. Drag car, track car, rally car, fast road car. Or just a pub talk car (massive bhp figure at high revs but not drivable)

I honestly think a custom is massive overkill for what you are after though.

Be warned though, it gets expensive.
