Default rebuilt engine

are rebuilt engine a bit noisy till their warn in like ? like the tapets and pistons n sduff, cus iv just rebuilt my engine, all the measurements were in and started it up and im geting piston slap sound and tapets? could this be down to need wearing in or the ****y oil iv put in to wear it in?it runs fine like, just a bit noisy

plus what can cause a fault code purge control valve?

from the first start up?iv only ran it for like up to temperature once cuse the noise scared me a bit, going to chek the timing tonight i think

I would put an oil pressure gauge on it and check the oil pressure first.

right, hm need to get hold of an oil pressure guage, any ideas of where i can get a cheep one just to chek it, would i need to do any "plumbing" or can you get ones that relay of an electrical cable?

(ps i no nothing bout oil guages and pressures!)

IIRC the thread size on the standard oil pressure switch is 1/8th BSP,so any gauge with this size adaptor/fitting would do.

Mine reads 7 bar when cold,then settles to 2.5- 3 bar when hot.
