Not sure about water problems, but they can mist up your screen as the hot air passes out of the scoop.

Never had any problems with a misting windscreen, and I've been using one for about 18 months on my track car.

It does however let out huge amounts of heat, as seen by the heat haze when back in the pits.

Well worth it if you do track days or have a high build up of under bonnet heat.

i use my car mainly on the road in the intention of using it the odd day on the track, my current scoop which is the the original type r one does let in a bit of water and ive noticed that it effect the coil packs as the car seems to cut out just when i com on boost.i like to drive my car twice a week so di you think it would cause more problems with the rain getting in. i was thinkingof buying the ones of ebay for 85 pounds are they any good is that the right one to buy or do i need to be looking else where????

AndyF's car currently has a huge top mount intercooler fitted, and he's using an STi 7 scoop from drmotorsport, before that when he had no intercooler he had a reverse scoop from ets racing.
