Default is this clutch or box issue? ..

hey guys. if i drive it easy, change gear at low revvs etc i can get through every gear fine, no probs

if i give it some even dropping the clutch at 4 - 5000 rpm i get a nasty grinding noise

also any quick gear changes in general arnt smooth, and a bit painful to hear / feel.

now is this likely to be the clutch itself, or the slave / master cylinders?

car is a 95 jap wrx, it scould even be on original clutch

Unfortunately could be a combination of both.
Always worth speaking to David at Welcome to the API website very helpful even if you don't buy anything

LOL, Sounds like a clutch issue if its struggling to disengage(SP) but it could also be a bent clutch fork.

if it is a bent clutch fork, would it be obvious on inspection. and is it possible to see without removing loads of bits? it may sound stupid, but ive only had her 2 days, and only spent about 20 mins looking round her.

if i have to take loads off to have a look, i might just do the whole clutch,
i hear the boxes are real heavy though, any idea how much a half decent box is gona be, if i can afford to replace both?

am i right in thinking i want to pay 100 - 200 for a clutch, want a half decent one, dont wana be changing it again, but my cars pushing 260 ish. any suggestions?

and any idea how much a half decent box will be, like a low mileage one, and what box is it on a jap import 95 wrx?
