Default uk turbo with new vf22 turbo 0.5bar

have fitted a vf22 turbo, 440 injectors and am awaiting apexi ecu to my uk turbo in place of the td04 and standard injectors. any one shed any light for me i am running the standard ecu at the moment till the new one turns up but now i have fitted a boots guage i see its only boosting 0.5bar ? any ideas ?? don't know if this would be normal till i upgrade the ecu and have it mapped.

Sounds like it's running at actuator pressure (ECU isn't controlling boost); probably a mis-wiring or mis-'tubing', but at this point it's a good thing as the ECU won't be able to control the VF22 anyway & 0.5bar should be fairly safe! Just let whoever's mapping it know...

my uk turbo came with 440 yellow injectors, are they different on certain years?

Blimey that's a very random question! But I'm not convinced you can pay too much attention to the injector colour - mine came with grey 440s (grey is frequently 380cc) but yellow seems to be more typical for 440s, although I've used yellow 550s & have seen yellow 650s. I suspect Subaru threw in whatever was on the shelf at the time, and the ECU map will take account of those vagueries in its safety margin.
So a random colour answer for a random question!

Limp Mode?
I doubt that the standard ECU could cope with a VF22, I would hazzard a guess that your problem lies there, though I dont know why anyone would fit a VF22 turbo, its pretty laggy you know (most people go for a vf34 or vf35)

Let me get this straight......your driving around (on boost) in a car that has a larger turbo and injectors on the standard map and your worried that the boost may not be right???

vf22 will certainly not kill a uk engine, friend of mine has had one on for about 5 years now running 1.2 bar and never had any bother at all.

i had one on mine running 1.4 bar and the engine is still fine

They are just big and laggy not really for a 2ltr (hence they went on the 22b's) a vf series is a better choice or a TD05.

the lag isnt actually that bad on them.
mine came on full boost about 3700 and right up to the redline in every gear never dropped off boost once on.

its only laggy if you want it to be
