Does your car run lumpy ? Does it Hesitate ?

If No check the wires on the Maf Plug could be a bad connection.

Check your hose's for leaks

Get ti to a specialist. If the car is in limp home mode, something is most definitely not right!

Saves a lot of faffing around!

Is limp home mode suposed to only allow certain amount of revs ie 3k - 4k

or does it cut the boost?

Limp home restricts boost and revs IIRC.

Seriously mate, get the car to a specialist, they'll nail the problem in about 5 mins and save you a lot of guess work.
