Default TICKING WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF

my uk turbo MY00 impreza ticks when shut off
my old my97 uk turbo did the same and my brothers MY 00 uk turbo does too
anything to worry about??
all quiet when driving no noises to worry about or anything

Quite normal. It's various metal parts contracting as they cool down. Quite often the exhaust heat shields.

i know a lot of cars tick but my two scoobs and my bro's seem to do it more than any others we have owned between us

If it's an electrical ticking, with ignition switched on but engine not running, then you get the fuel pump priming itself I believe. When it's ticking stick your head in the boot & see if the noise is louder. Or is it a mechanical ticking you're hearing & from what location?

Probably just the heat shields contracting and such.. Scooby runs quite hot compared to some cars so will be more pronounced

The loudness of the tiking could be down to many factors such as the ambient sound levels , how hot the car has got and any walls etc to rebound the sound
