hi i recently bought an x plate impreza turbo which has had a remap and a performance exhaust system and has been rolling roaded at 250 bhp.

have had the car for a few weeks and there has been no problems, until i decided to use normal unleaded fuel in it, instead of v power which i allways use (the guy who had the car before me allways ran it on v power too)

since i put the normal fuel in the car has been jerking really bad when on boost and the power delivery is jerky too, with the occasional bang and pop from the exhaust.. also the enginge knocks slightly (its not the bottom end or nothing)

is this just because of the normal fuel i used or does it sound like something else?


any help be much appreciated as im starting to panic slightly!!

Put some decent fuel back in (or octane booster) asap, if the guy before you ran on v power it will also be mapped for this. You may also need to reset your ecu after you put high octane fuel back in as the ecu may be storing knock correction.

What fuel are standard uk imprezas suppost to run on?

Eprom

Normal unleaded, but if modified super or V power.

i ran my untouched uk 2000 on normal and it was rubbish no boost at all but all changed wen super went in....(well it had centre cat removed but that was it) very strange
