Default Power Steering?

Hi Guys. Just picked up a 94 classic wrx last night. I defo had the impreza smile all way up the motorway.

My problem is as I pulled up towards my driveway I noticed my steering getting little bit stiffer and a tiny whining noise everytime I turned. All this was also in heavy rain. Hoping to look at it tonight and was hoping someone could shed some light on this.

Thanks

Apparently that was checked as I just picked it up from an MOT station where it was fully inspected over the weekend.

But just in case does anyone know what type of steering fluid these cars take?

yes spent a month on here trying to find out what it was mine sounded like the rims chaffing on the arches when cornering or boosting over slight bumps and then by fluke i topped it up and its fine now dont know why it went low but even if it looks ok you will be suprised how much you can still get in there i would not trust a gararge to top it as they prob only do it by eye its like your water expantion tank seems like its full then you still get more in there not saying this is what you have only what mine was

Kool. Fingers crossed then and I'll check that out tonight.

I'd hate to run into problems in less than 24hrs of owing it.

Checked and found the fluid was hardly touching the guage. Topped up with some Dextron TQD-II and all seems fine now. Its weird how it all just emptied out. Cheers again Tezza
