That all depends what you call major.... The rear hub assay has to be removed, which is not a particularly difficult job as long as the bolts are not seized. (the lower lateral bolt can sometimes seize in the bushes, and then have to be cut out) The handbrake shoes & mechanism also have to be removed.

You will then need access to a good press and tools to hold the hub in the correct position & press the bearing in & out.

You will also need 1x Hub Nut, 3x Seals & a Bearing costing about £155.00

At dealer hourly rates they have charged you about 2 hours to do the job.

If it was on a new car then it could be done in just over an hour if you know what you are doing, but on an older car it could quite possibly take at least 2 hours.

my freind who works at a garage just got all those parts for 70quid?

going to fit it for a 10er says its an easy job so il see how that goes.?

cnt justify 360 quid for one wheel bearing espically as subaru apprently have a special tool that allows them to do it quicker?

Thanks for the info anyways.
