A 20g will run 400 bhp at the very best.

I would buy a 20g from one person only, Andy Forrest. (I did 3 years ago)

Harvey Smith does a very good 05/06-20G as well, he has made 420bhp on one with supporting mods!

both Andy Forrest and Harvey use genuine mitsubishi parts when building their 20g turbos, the JAWarehouse turbos use cheap copy parts that are known to be inferior and just don't make the power.

regarding the original post and an answer to the repair question, i very much doubt it, i am pretty sure you need a new turbo, if you are not making any positive pressure and getting a whistle then you need to be very careful, there is a posibility you dont have any compressor blades, or if you do they are mangled. If i was you i would take the inlet off and stick ya fingers in and find out, cos if you dont then they are making their way to your cylinders, which would be very very very bad. its also possible the shaft has snapped, meaning the turbine spins and whistles but the compressor doesnt. Either way, i wouldnt use the car until you have changed the turbo. Its also possible you have a huge leak after the turbo, but if you did the car would not run very well at all, if at all from idle until you get to ambient pressure.

It could be repaired, speak to a turbo engineering company such as AET engineering, Turbo dynamics etc. before splashing the cash.
I have taken my turbo to be repaired today to have a complete new core fitted.
