Default What ECU for ANTI LAG

Not sure what ECU to go for ! Always fancied a good dose of anti lag, so any advice would be much a appricitated. The ECU will be going into a Type R.

you do realise that putting anitlag on will be risking your turbo and posibly your exhaust valves?

U can have Anti-lag as on quite a few aftermarket ECU's either as standard or as an option, e.g. GEMS, Simtek, MOTEC etc

Yeh, iam aware that you can have it as an option on a few ECUs just wondering which one is the best, also I know there is a risk to certain parts of the car, but its worth it !!!

I`d personally reccomend the simtek. I`ve had no trouble with it on mine and it certainly seems like its the way forward

other option is to have pops and bangs mapped into the over run, mine posp bangs and spit flames all over, and doesn't run the risk of running anti-lag

I'm thinking of this route, When do these pops bangs and flame come in?

Coming down through gears and when shifting up i would of thought?

And from as little as 2000 RPM.

It is a bit extreme, but i'm going back to have it put back on again. I had it for about 7m, then removed for 3m, now i miss it.

Here comes the noise.

With the Simtek you can programme the anti lag to time out after x seconds or in the event of sensing high intake temperatures.
Most applications are mapped for overrun pops/bangs/flames and machine gun type noises that can be switched on or off.
Positive boost on overrun like the WRC cars use would need a very expensive turbo and headers to run full anti-lag on an aggressive setting.

Its also not road legal, that said any of the above mentioned ecu's will meet the requirement, Simtek is as good at it as any, thats not the reason I'd choose one though. Its just good at what it does mapped up correctly in any car.
