Should the tensioners be changed with the cam belt?
I've having some work done on my MY00 sport wagon, and the cam belt is being changed at the same time. It's only done 8k, but i'm having the water pump replaced due to it failing.
Do i need to change the tensioners and the idlers? Or do i just need to change the belt?
The kit is £300, the belt is £50.
The car has done 90k, and i dont know if the tensioners have been changed before.
Thanks for any help

Personally i would change the pulleys. I had a new cambelt fitted without changing them and after just over a year the tensioner pulley bearing collapsed and i had to have a new belt fitted along with the pulleys changed and more labour costs. The car had only covered about 5000 miles between the 2 new belts aswell. Could have been much worse though my belt was dangerously slack once the bearing collapsed. Could have been a new engine.
